Bolstering the upper midwest power grid, as well as American dairy and farming, and bringing international auto making back to the homefront for American workers. It would be quite common to hear someone on the east coast who had recently graduated for example say they got there grade .

You can see a similar and satirical take on it if you've ever seen Trailer Park Boys and Ricky being determined "to get his grade 10".


I actually thought it was a more local Ontario thing prior to seeing it in TPB years and years ago because of OAC (grade 13), but turns out it's a common, at least in the east, turn of phrase.

Something like "get your grade 12 and then you can travel a bit" means to finish highschool and then gap year.

I don’t agree with many of his foreign policy positions, but I would draw the line well short of fascism. You may not be familiar with the checks in place that limit the president’s power. Got ya beat by one. I started school in Michigan where I had to do kindergarten (primary) and finished high school in Ontario, where I had to go to grade thirteen in order to get into university. I had fourteen years in before I started my chemical engineering degree!

With the size of my disciplinary file the high school likely wouldn’t of allowed me to hang around an extra year anyway. I was a very angry individual in those years trying to solve all the words problems with my hands or more likely trying to exorcise personal demons at the expense of others.

If I were king for a day in Canada, Canada would be negotiating with China to fund the trans mountain pipeline from Hardisty to a West Coast export terminal. Those mid continent, US heavy oil refineries would have to switch to Venezuelan crude as the US does not produce the appropriate grade of oil for them. Specifically Wood River and Pine Bend, two of our most important refineries.

The US does not hold all the cards, but Canada lacks the leadership to play theirs properly.

To be clear, I do not want this to happen. What I would like to see is the leaders of the two nations I am a citizen of acting like adults and negotiating in good faith. And you guys who believe everything our president says need to do a little independent investigation. Much of what he is saying is based on total fallacy. Facts matter.
