Survival shelter

A good survival shelter can be made with smaller "logs" covered with bark and moss.
Or a tipi with the tarp around it and then covered with long sticks or poles then covered with moss.
vs
Big logs take too much time and energy to cut and move.
That is called Homesteading...

I’ve seen many people go on the 21 day challenge of the 'survival' TV series 'Naked and Afraid' and succeed only by starving for 21 days-no camping/bus crafting/hunting/fishing applied skills or even teamwork etc.

I don’t think that translates to them as being a “badass” or even having bragging rights as 'survival experts' if they reach the end only by the affords of a knowledgeable partner!

My goodness, and then some of them are even instructors at Survival Schools!

And how on earth are some of theses' only claims to be an outdoor 'survivalist', that they had done an army 'tour of duty' ?
As what? A store clerk reading a survival book ?

They all show their shortcomings when compared to those on the show that actually knows and practice this craft, and are real badass and survival experts, and I salute them!

A piece of real Africana reading...
I am busy reading a very interesting African historical book named 'Sjangani' by Pirow written in 1953.
It's about this young 12-13 year old Shangaan boy fleeing the murderous Zulu impis alone after his whole village has been wiped out and his consequent survival in the wild African bush experiences as well.
He was fleeing for nearly 2 years from Mozambique upriver all along the Limpopo river to the nowadays Louis Trichardt [and Venda] area in South Africa .[+_ 650 miles /1000 km of pristine and wild African bush] with only a spear and a 'kalabash' [hollow dried out pumpkin like fruit container for water etc.']
There he then later became a hunter for the famous 'white' black tribe leader and hunter J. Albasini ......
Anyway, he describe a primitive fire making method he used with Limpopo river reeds that I have never before came across....
I am still trying to puzzle out how it works exactly from the about 70 year old description in this book about something that happened about 100 years before the book, and will then try it out....
'The description of the Ancient African fire making technique with reeds from the Limpopo river puzzles me.....
Something like a fire plough with reeds, but not quit as he push [friction] AND turn [???] one reed...[maybe a hand drill?]

Anyway, a fascinating nearly 200 years old real life Historical South Africa Survival document for those interested in these things..!

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
