SOUTH AFRICA: Unnerving Situation With Rhinocon Anton Bakker

Will be coastal brown bears, mountain goat, and a bunch of others but the first two as the focus.

I just have to avoid the risk of derailing my own thread as it's a good tool on the case, and another defrauded individual learned there were more involved by spotting this thread etc.

Ardent PM me some info on your operation I've never hunted BC but I have fished it and would like to find out what you have to offer.

Thank you, I'm very indebted for the continuing news.

Bit of a segway but I've decided to use this as the motivation to move forward and we're starting a new 3,000 sq mile/ 5,000 sq km hunting operation on the north coast of British Columbia. I dream of Africa but I these events have fired me to recognize where I'm from and focus on the business for now. So this situation has ended my fun, and fast forwarded my determination to succeed here on the home front.

Does this mean that you are becoming a guide in BC now Ardent - are you joining GOABC?

Presume we'll see you at a meeting kudu or we may have already met, shoot me a message to chat want to keep this thread on track as others are using it to keep tabs on the rhino scam.

Yes
Unfortunately we did buy from him.
He also operates under the name Tonsia Boerdery.
They sell game
WE EVEN got full description of the animals.
The day of delivery we even got hourly update of where the animals are in transit.
Then the stories started, never delivered.
We only got hold of his name after we unraveled the situuation.
We worked with his Wife Hence not knowing what we were letting ourselves into. Only after a while we established it is Anton Bakker who has Tonsis boerdery.
He is still very much operating.
He has 3different tel numbers.

What is the wife's name?

Ware Skelm

We have since established there were more farmers who paid much more for other game and same happened.
Ill put them all in contact with rampai.
Thanx you

Sorry to hear of your plight. It seems some people just don't deserve to breath.

All the best in getting justice.

I hope so too, it's rather scary as I'm a young dad and bush pilot in northern Canada, chasing the Big Five dream. It's a loss that would forever change what I achieve in Africa, and being the most expensive of the Five I sold all my toys and went to get it out of the way. I really hope it's simple problems but as things come to light it doesn't appear that way.
I am praying that your hunt works out. I would like nothing more than reading about your Rhino hunt with lots of pics. From one pilot to another, I wish you the best!

Man that sucks....I wish you the very best.

Dear Angus,

I am assisting with an investigation on this matter. The court case is Thursday this week. Please send me your email address to private@elephant.co.za An investigating officer will contact you then ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

I have paid in full for a White Rhino hunt, my trip is supposed to be in January. Unfortunately, I received an email recently stating all communications are now to go through him, and not my agent Theo / SkinAfrika (a very good guy I've dealt with before), and to pay him an undisclosed amount (Mr Bakker). I replied that I'm paid in full, and not sure what is going on, and have been cordial so far.

It has become more worrisome as I work with Theo on this, in that Theo was told by Mr. Bakker never to contact him again, and he is not replying to me either despite telling Theo that he is now in direct communication with me, which so far is not true. I got Mr. Bakker on the phone once when he likely didn't realize who's number it was, this call followed several unanswered emails, and Mr. Bakker said he had internet trouble and would reply to all my concerns that day. No reply, and it's been roughly a week. I tried whattsapp, and it went through, and I received a couple vague one to three word replies to questions that didn't answer anything really.

I had a trip to Cameroon immediately before this one, and needed tickets booked to get my hunting licence there. Unfortunately I have to bundle the two trips together to make it fit life and I was forced to cancel Cameroon, as it was going to be too late and the Rhino is by far the most expensive hunt I'll ever book and takes priority right now.

If anyone knows or knows of Mr. Anton Bakker / Rhinocon or and can help bring some light to the situation, it is appreciated. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but with the amount of money of mine he's holding that I can't afford to lose, I'd like to think I'm understandably nervous. Theo is also a top shelf fellow to deal with and I find his sudden hostility to SkinAfrika disturbing and inexplicable.

I realize likely little will come of this post, but hopefully, it can spread the information and at least help others. Hopefully this all comes together but with each passing day, my optimism dwindles,

Angus
