I have a Stainless steel Ruger M77 MK II chambered in 7.62x39mm, Zytel Paddle/Skeleton stock and a matching stainless steel Leupold 3x9 scope. The Scope has only been mounted but never fired. Rifle is professionally cleaned.

I have researched the S/N and according to Ruger they made 1217 of the rifles in 7.62x39mm and NOT all of them were in stainless steel with the wood inserts, so this was a very limited run. $1200 shipped.

There are less than 100 rounds through this rifle.
More photos available on request.

I would like to buy your rifle.
What would you like me to do?
Thanks.

This is a scam. This guy reached out to me about my ad found here:

He reached out to me on Monday and asked for more photos and had me send him a photo with date written on a paper so he can seem genuine to others. He’s taken all my fotos and should be banned from this site.

As a general warning, never agree to do anything shipped, only face to face. Also, insist on talking on the phone first.

Dang scammers…….he put a lot of effort into it. I looked at his profile and his old posts because I was seriously considering it.

He didn’t make just BS “hello and welcome” posts or one word replies to get over a post count of over a hundred. He actually made thought out replies across the forum….

He likely used ChatGPT or some other AI natural language program to sound fluent in our parlance. Glad I could help ya brother!

Yes, this same rifle has made the rounds this week! Increased the price here a bit from what I saw it elsewhere :ROFLMAO: probably due to that professional cleaning job!!

Rifle is professionally cleaned.

Knew it. Gotta be careful

These guys always act the same way. They join and then hibernate for a year or so. Sometimes two years. Then they have a flurry of posts to build a positive reaction score, mostly in the “on a lighter note” thread but elsewhere too. Sometimes they even talk the talk (a little) but when you take into account all of their activity and the patterns they follow it’s pretty clear what they are.

I’ve never seen an item over $3k (last year some swaros were listed by a scammer for $2500+ but that the first time something that valuable has been listed since my time on AH) offered by a scammer and I’d say 99% of items offered are around the $500-$1000 mark.

They also generally react to accusations of scamming in a couple different ways. They either act aggressive or they try to act like they have some righteous indignation but since they’re awful people they can’t pull it off. In either case they NEVER address the concerns.

Also, the amount of real gun guys that are going to refer to a stainless/synthetic rifle as “beautiful” are few and far between. Not judging, just stating a fact.

I turned this ad into admin as a likely scam yesterday morning before commenting on this thread.
I hope he was not successful in his scam.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
