I like my unfired 470 capstik. It is unique. Original Asqure design.

IF you ever wish to sell it, pls let me know. Thx. Is Asquire a magazine? :p

A Square. @C.W. Richter
My bad
Yes have a 338-378 like that one too.

Just be careful...The orig. .338 A-Sq was formed from a 460 or 378 Wby and later on, when Wby released the 338-378, A-Sq began forming .338 A-Sq out of it (they are NOT interchangeable, as the dimensions are different, shoulders completely different, etc.) I've never tried it, but I doubt you could close the bolt on the A-Sq using Wby ammo. The other way around could be an issue. Although the heads were stamped .338-378 Wby, the cases were ink stamped A-Sq. 'Just didn't want to see another collector of oddballs get hurt! The Norma Wby cases also seem to fail a lot more in the A-Sq (worked too much, too hard for the Ps involved?) To complicate matters even further, A-Sq later released the .338 Excaliber (beltless) which uses a completely different, larger case. This one shoots great using A-Sq cases and <100 gr of powder in hot climates.

Thanks for the info. All my 338/378 brass are facory wby or norma factory. They all came in 20 count wby boxes. Also I bought Factory wby ammo in the beginning. I bought the rifle Mark v accumark as soon as they announced it. Got enough supplies.

Open to caliber, but it must have a wood coil check stock. Thanks very much.
@SLG
Not trying to be funny but if you can't find one get a P14 Enfield and build your own.
Art Alpin grabbed all the P14s he could get hold of. The reason being they were one of the few actions that were big enough and strong enough to handle his big A Square cartridges with minimal alterations.
The old P14s snd M17s are a massive action that just begs to be built into a custom rifle.

I think I would want checkering, but Art Alphin made it clear that he thought checkering would remove skin when shooting the big boys. I don't need the biggest stuff he made, but I think a 416 Rigby or 458WM would be a nice compromise with the Coil Check.
@SLG and others
What is a coil stock. Never heard of it so please enlighten this old fella.

Coil Check was a stock design by Art and collaboration from multiple people specifically taking into account opinions and information from doctors and orthopedic specialists to best maximize the dispersion of recoil on the shoulder and body. This includes the massive buttstock area, shape, and overall size and weight as well as a forearms designed wider and tapering in such a way to better handle the rearward force.

To sum it up, it's a large piece of lumber. However, it works extremely well for most people. Mine fits me very well and I can rock out 4 shots with the 460 weatherby accurately in rapid succession. I've fired other "less powerful " cartridges that had more felt recoil, though completely subjective to tolerance and fit.

As TTundra explained, the stock is really what sets the A-Square rifles apart from others. I had a P14 custom DG rifle in a beautiful piece of wood that was exceptionally well designed, but it was a conventional design. I also have plenty of good usable heavy rifles now, so no need for a new gun, I just really want to try the Coil Check out. @BobNelson35Whelen , if you google the A-Square Coil Check, you will find a few pics of the stock. It may look ungainly to some, but I do believe it is a very effective design for handling big recoil. A friend on the coast has a few of them and If I can ever get over his way, I will try one out. He likes all sorts of rifles, but he assures me that the Coil Check really works well.

Good stuff! Essentially the same, but slighly diff dimensions. I almost went that route and then the A-Sq cavern opened itself to me (i could've had their M70 variant in 338-06 and a 500, but sadly had to pass on those at the time and now they're "poof!") lol

I trying not to buy any more. Seriously contemplating selling all of them but for a hand full and retire. I am tired of working for over 40 years. Time to stop and smell the roses.

Say this to yourself 10x before bed every night: I will contact CW when I am prepared to sell the A-Sq Capstick. LOL It beats the hell out of "I will not.......in class" 1,000x! ;) Just prior to Dakota selling out (and then shuttering for awhile,) I was in the process of ordering a really nice, super-fancy 470 Capstick. It was both sad and smart that I pulled the order before sending $$$ into the Abyss (the bad one.) lol

I have an extensively reworked Remington M17 that I would consider selling at a very reasonable price.

I have an extensively molested Enfield (Action) that I will donate! Actually I will dig it out and post pics tomorrow. Unless this is frowned upon highest bid goes to the Africanhunting.com site with buyer paying shipping to a FFL in the USA. I am a FFL.

Ok, I know I said I would post a pic but after locating said item I must rescind my offer. Let's just say it was not well stored! If someone absolutely must have one I will send pics directly but it will be a heavy lift to make good again. Sorry to bait and switch.
