Wanted: Full body polar bear mount for museum.

Local museum near where I bird hunt in Montana is looking to acquire a polar bear full body mount and a couple of seals. Obtaining the seals shouldn't be a problem but they obviously want to find the bear first.

f so that is ridiculous. Similar restrictions apply to various things worldwide but it seems ridiculous.
If there is a bear in country and someone wants to sell it and a buyer wants it it’s better it’s preserved and cared for rather than stuffed in a storage to deteriorate.

The rules that apply to individuals are different than those that apply to museums & educational facilities. But because of international treaties & the Marine Mammals Protection Act, there's still some hurdles that have to be cleared to be in possession of a post-ban polar bear that could be a challenge:

That does not apply to Museums. Take the Smithsonian for example. Don't think there was ever a Lion in Washington DC.

That is correct as to both Kanati, (who I would recommend) and the law for accredited museums. The key being accredited.
