What’s your hunting bucket list

My bucket list hunt now since turning 62 this year and dealing with family and health issues, is to finish my Big 5 and Dangerous 7 in 2027. I think I have have found the perfect outfitter in Zim for a 21 day hunt to accomplish it in one trip. Leopard, Bull Elephant and Hippo plus adding a Hyena. After that it will be just to enjoy any type hunt I can find and start to relax more and enjoy life.

Next decade plans
NA: Bighorn, Dall, and big mule deer. And for some unknown reason, I’ve always really wanted to take a Shiras moose in Idaho. Bow hunting axis deer in Hawaii.
Africa: leopard in a couple months, then elephant, then Cape Buffalo. Will sneak a kudu / nyala in there as I’m able.

Such a big world with Unlimited Opportunity!!!
I want to continue African Safaris and continue to experience hunting Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Lion as long as I am able
“Experience/Cultural Hunts” in places like Scotland, France, Spain, Hungary etc
Argentina for the Experience and Culture
Species Hunts for things like Lord Derby Eland, Masaii Land, Sitatunga, Sable etc
Maybe Marco Polo if I’m able
Man…if Polar Bear became importable… that would be cool
Walrus maybe just to experience the Culture

I have a big year coming up with Spain and Austria, but one never stops dreaming of what could be next.

Buff with my double (2026)
-Mongolia for a gobi ibex
-A leopard anywhere
-Tanzania hunt for pretty much anything but I would like to get a few of the iconic gazelle
- a bongo
-free range lion on foot
-a moose
- water buffalo in Australia
-Sitka in Ireland

After decades of hunting in Europe and especially in Africa, I am only interested in hunting buffalo, all other game leaves me cold. However, when the subject of buffalo comes up, I am suddenly wide awake.

Well, I turned 51 in February and I’ve been very fortunate to do a lot of really cool hunts and take alot of very nice animals in my time! I am proud to say that I am a middle class, blue collar, dirt on my hands guy and I have absolutely busted my ass, scrimped and saved to make these things possible for myself. I would like to do a lot more hunting in the US but I fell in love with Africa and that love is still strong enough as to where I still would rather hunt there than here for now. If money was no object here is my list!

North America
Caribou
Big Black Bear (my first was small, taken in Maine)
Pronghorn
Mountain Lion
Brown Bear

Africa
Leopard
Lion

New Zealand
Stag
Tahr

In the tradition of true bucket list, money were no object. Well that is an entirely different thing.

Here are my top 10.

1. Marco Polo Argali
2. Polar Bear
3. Stone sheep on a full mixed bag hunt (goat, moose, caribou, black bear, wolf, grizzly bear and a big 6 point bull elk). I don't think you can hunt grizzly anymore in BC. So it would have to be without the grizzly.
4. Mountain Nyala on a full bag hunt, giant forest hog, bushbuck, and so on.
5. Lord derby Eland on a full bag safari with western buffalo
6. Bongo on a full bag safari
7. Full bag Shaker in Pakistan for all the sheep, goats and markhor and all the available deer and antelope.
8. big moose, caribou, Dall sheep and goat in the Yukon
9. Full bag 30 day lion, leopard, multiple buffalo in a wilderness area in Tanzania preferably the Selous
10. Full bag 21 days safari in Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe or Mozambique

Realistic top 10, most of which I hope to accomplish this year.

2. Class 3 alpine ibex in Austria
3. class 1 chamois in Slovenia
4. couple good fallow bucks in Slovenia
5. couple ok roe bucks in Slovenia
6. 3-5 ok roe bucks in Germany
7. adult male wild boar a Keiler as we call it
8. mouflon ram in Czech republic
9. hucho on a fly in Slovenia in November
10. big brown trout on the fly in Scotland in August.
