Why Buy A Blaser K95?

I bought one earlier this year in a 30-06 and then added a second 243 win barell to the setup. O never thought I'd like hunting with it as I much as I do, and the finish on the rifle is superb. Always draws an audience when it's taken out. Om surprised more people haven't gone down the kiplauf path

How many K95s have needed fitting for extra barrels? Mine came with an octagonal 308 and I later ordered a 22 Hornet barrel that did not need fitting. It’s here in the OR Tambo airport as I fly north today to start a hunt.

According to the shop I purchased my rifles from it does happen on occasion. If memory serves me right @K95 mentioned one of his (many) barrels needed fitting. My four barrels work on both my receivers so I haven't experienced it myself.

The only way to know is to try to install it. If it won’t attach or close then it needs small polishing, which is another subject.

Wow! I’ve never had a problem between 4 K95 frames and 6 barrels. I would hate to have to try to find a smith for that job. Most are glorified AR part assemblers. That is good information.

Top Dog would be able to share some thoughts on the process if one of his barrels needed fitting.

I picked up my used K95 in 6.5x55 about a year and half ago. Earlier this Summer I got a used 30-06 barrel for it. I checked it for fit and it seemed to fit just like the other barrel. In September as I was finishing dopping my loads I noticed a crack on each side of the butt stock near the trigger area. It is now in for repair. I sent in both barrels to make sure they fit properly. I also had another barrel on order which has shown up. So hopefully once finished all three will be good to go. Neither loads were hot and I don’t recall it ever being dropped.

That is not a recoil crack......

My wife and I have a couple Merkel K’s. Mind is a K1 in 7mm RemMag…hers is a K3 full stock in 7x57r.

The K3 will group sub 1” all day long…the 7mm RM shoots a tad tighter and are absolute joys to carry….though I do have to say the recoil in the RM is a bit stout!

I have a K95 baroness grade in 243. Love it.
Some say get it chambered in a rimmed case. Maybe, but I bought mine pre-owned and was damn glad to get it in 243, a favorite round. I don’t have issues pulling the spent case out and remember, it’s all about one shot kills after all. Sorry, pics loaded upside down. Don’t know why. Happy shooting.
Just a thought, don’t forget about combo guns and drillings. Great guns and value! And you’ll get great accuracy there too with some real class.

Damned Blaser, I have an R8 Success and an R93 Makura Ulrich Takedown however, my brain says buy a K95, you need a K95. Of course I need a bloody K95!
Currently looking at this Luxus in 308w and another with deep relief engraving w/ G6 wood super finish, and I have a spare scope mount so I shouldn't let that go to waste. Right?

I bought a K95 in 308 Win to go with my R8. It's a great rifle and I've since added 22 Hornet to it and taken numerous Tiny 10 with that setup. I like the K95.

Man, I drool over and want both the Blaser S2 and the K95. I see a S2 in .470 on GI and remind myself I don’t need another big bore. But surely would like to find an accurate kiplauf. And I’ve never heard of an inaccurate Blaser.

Has anyone had any first hand issues with K95 ?
How does the firing pin work. Many single shots use a thumb type hammer and have very slow lock times.

No issues with K95. Superbly accurate. It is the ideal mountain rifle in lighter calibers. I would think one in 9.3x74R or the 30 blaser will get your attentiin they are light weight rifles. No hammers involved.

Calibers such as 22 Hornet, 6.5x57R, 7x57R, 7x65R and 257 WM will be first class......I believ you can also order a 28ga barrel.....

I am in the same Blaser bitten hole at the moment......
Trying despirately to ignore a BBS 97 in 9.3x74R/6.5×57R Bergstutsen.......
The more I think about it the more I want it......
If I add a K95 in 7x65R I need nothing else for pg.....
