Zimbabwe Goverment Lists 23 White-Owned Farms For Seizure

Yes, salt the fields will kill them for future use, the sad thing is that most of the white farmers that left strongly believe that one day will most of the white developed farms be handle over to them again, same as in East Europe during Soviet Union entrance after the 2ww. I stay away from Zim, it will probably within 5 years be a positive change but as long that 91 year old Mugabe are alive it will not change.... Zim is a bit similar to Castro and Cuba.

My families property now amongst these 23.
What now to do with a pair of 75+ year olds? Mom born and raised on that piece of land. 90 + head of cattle rustled in the past 2 years. ..no reaction from the police.
About 80 other families will be homeless too. ...all for a political party
Prat.
I'm sure you've all heard it all before.
But the stark reality is ones life is much more important than a piece of land.
But the wheel will turn.

Gordon. ..strangely enough I know a bunch of Cubans. ..they were here in zim on medical attachment working in clinics and rural hospitals.
They were amazingly patriotic. And I suppose those of us still in zim are that way too. You don't have to like the govt to love the land .

Sick! I have a friend at work who had to leave Zim in the middle of the night to save his life many years ago. Uncle Robert is a modern version of Hitler!

Ole Bally...I really symphatize with you and your family over this lunacy..

Let us hope that change will come after Mugabes death.....perhaps new political leaders will have the sense to restore ownership to those of you still wanting it..

Zimbabwe has the potencial to become a great country again..

What do you think is the right thing to do for us foreign hunters..... come in and hunt Zim or boycott to hope for a more rapid change..?

What really burns me is that things like this go on and not a word from the rest of the World. But a dentist hunts a lion and the "civilized" world go bananas.
+1

Maybe someone will remain

Interestingly enough, Mugabe has received several "honorary degrees" for his far thinking, progressive policies from some major universities here in the States.........later rescinded, of course. I find it simply amazing (and hypocritical) that the American news services were all on the same bandwagon to condemn South Africa for it's "racist" policies and unfairness (apartied).....you couldn't pic out a newspaper back in the 80's/90's without reading about it daily, but when the reverse is true, you NEVER hear a peep out of 'em.........(n) Never would have known about this is I just listened to the usual news services (or what passes as "news")...
I do not plan on ever hunting in Zim, not only because of things such as this (people being kicked off their farms because of their race), but the corruption of govt. as a whole.......my fear is that something would happen (like I shoot some iconic lion with a collar or something:rolleyes:) and the next thing I know I'm sitting in some rat hole jail cell somewheres........NO THANK YOU!!!

I'm afraid that Mugabe is never going to die: Heaven doesn't want him, and hell's afraid of him taking over!!!

It's too bad that the white farmers who were kicked off of their land weren't allowed to emigrate here to the states and be given farms that were in forecloure by the banks; to me, it seems like it would be a win/win situation: the farmers would get some decent land and a livelyhood, the banks would get the farms off the books and make them productive again, and the U.S. would get a productive citizen and member of society that wasn't looking for a handout.......unlike a good portion of the other "immigrants" we seem to be getting nowadays.

Just a thought........................I thought I smelled smoke!!!;)

that last paragraph , is so sensible , that there isn't a government in the world that would touch it ......

as for bob , taking over hell, ha ha ha , hynas are only brave in the dark or in packs !!

Reminds me of a Golf course I was a member or back in the 80s the County offered the owner pennys on the dollar for the property and when he wouldn't sell they took the land using eminent domain, before he left he Bulldozed the Clubhouse and destroyed every green on the course. I think I would be inclined to do the same to my property in Zimbabwe if I was being forced off it JMTC

Land grabs and Cecil the Lion? No thanks. No Zim. in my future. I wouldn't give this government a dime.

You are 100 % right Michael, also the now bleeding financial situation in China will most probably effect Zimbabwe, Mugabe have for the last 15 years with open arms welcomed Chinese investors instead of white people.

It's only very sad for our colleagues in the hunting sector of Zim, that for sure don't have a easy daily work to dealing with a government that hate white people, but the best recommendation would be to not hunting in Zim, to simply showing that we don't support the brutal land grabs that going on there !

So sad, such a beautiful country going to waste for one mans greed, how much more does he need!!

Michael,Gordon,

I see it complete different.
An elite lacks nothing.
The people suffer.
And how can wildlife survive without the money of all sort of tourists ?

Have you ever aksed to you the question, why China is so successful in Africa ?

China doesn't care about laws outside of China, they bribe and destroy countries.

Than one might not have gone to Poland at the times of the Iron Curtain.
I remember the discussions to strength a Communism System very well in those days.
But lots of familys had a better live by the West European hunters during the Season.

Simon,
human rights are only a product of the western hemisphare.
Our strength, but today, in face of the reality our sinking.

the problem with that gordon is you are then depriving more people of their jobs and income both white and black, while the majority of people in power wouldnt gives a rats arse whether people stop coming to hunt, as it wouldnt affect their lifestyles at all..................

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
