Beautiful !

Great looking rifle and specs! I’m glad it doesn’t have a different stock or else I’d be very poor!

Hey, that's great to know!
I have an American style CZ factory stock with metal pillars and Devcon bedding.
I will swap the stocks for your pleasure.
Send me a Direct Message and we'll do business!

I have handled this rifle. It’s a quality build. And I actually like the stock on it. I had that stock on my 550 and it mitigates recoil well.

It would look great leaning against an elephant

Have you chronographed loads from the 23" barrel?
I have not chronographed loads from this rifle with 2" bobbed off the barrel. I bought it in this configuration and did not have a baseline of its factory 25" barrel for refernce. One could estimate a velocity loss of appoximately 20 fps per inch, depending on the powder. A faster burning powder will of course develop more velocity in less barrel length.

That stated, if a 23" .458 Lott doesn't have enough velocity and energy to cleanly kill dangerous game, I guess I'll stick with my .458 Win rifle. :)

My trusty Heym 88 in .458 Win with 470 grain bullets at muzzle velocity of 2150 fps has for me killed cape buffalo, giraffe, lioness, zebra and a few other critters. For its previous caretaker she slew several bull elephant, a rhino, numerous bufflalo and probably other game.

For comparison, I had and sold in a moment of weakness a lovely .416 Taylor with a 21" barrel. That rifle would still push a 400 grain bullet at a measured 2320 fps. That was enough power for my friend, its new caretaker @Altitude sickness to kill not one but two cape buffalo with a single shot! Of course the second buff was a surprise to he, PH, and trackers!

Here is an ideal non-nonsense dangerous game rifle that needs nothing but good ammunition!

I really like this tricked-out CZ but it shares a gun safe with a .458 Win magazine rifle, a .458 WIn Heym double rifle, and 450 Rigby magazine rifle. Add to these two .416 rifles, and not one but three .375 H&H's. Yes, I love all my rifles. I am a gun guy.... :)

Buy once, cry once guys!

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
