Movies Film

Both Avatar 1 and 2, much like many fantasies, require imagination to appreciate. Excellent direction and CGI in both.

To round out my list in this group of favorites would be both Quigley Down Under and the Harry Potter series. Much like Tolkien, Rowling created an amazing story with Harry Potter. The late Alan Rickman was excellent in both Quigley and Harry Potter

I'll add a relatively unknown, low budget movie for contrast based on the true story of Homer Hickam growing up in a coal mining town in West Virginia. An American story

"Matewan" 1987 was interesting, WV Coal Union, 1920's

A lot of movies I've discredited, violent, terrible endings, go nowhere, etc. But yrs later or watching it several times, (open the mind). I've never developed quite an appreciation for the writing that goes into some film, Cohen Brothers, Sham M. Night Mylan, etc ...

  • It’s hard to believe that just fifteen years ago the Coen Brothers revolutionized the modern Western with their 2007 film, No Country for Old Men. Widely considered by many to be the Coen brothers' best film, it would go on to win Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 80th Academy Awards.

Idk if you'd seen their 2010 "True Grit" .. another great Cohen dialogue.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe

Hi Walden. Good morning from England, Chris here (The Englishman!) from Croatia. Firstly it was a pleasure to meet you and Michelle - a fellow Sanderson! I have finally joined AH as I enjoy it very much. Glad you enjoyed the hunt and your write up which I read on AR was very good indeed. I am sending on WhatsApp pics from Bojan of some of the animals hunted recently. Take care and best regards. CS.
