New Lipseys M77 .35 Whelen

Does anyone have one to measure the barrel diameter at the muzzle? I am mostly curious as the muzzle on my Ruger No.1 S medium 24" barrel .35 Whelen measures .675", and I wonder if the new bolt gun is the medium weight or standard.

TIA!
The new Ruger 35 Whelen measures 0.6265 at the muzzle.

i tried finding a sugar moma, but at my age that was not going to work, so i became a sugar daddy. i know i will not last to long, i just hope my money lasts as long as i do.

I have the African still in the box, but passed the test with a 5 shot group in 9,3x62, and back in the box, My right hand and age is getting worse at handleing recoil, so I will probably put it on the classifieds, Its a classic..Im having a REm 721 rebored to a whelen, hope it works but I can handle my 30-06s so for,

I would be interested in a 9.3x62. If you decide to pass it on, let me know!

I think that a lot of us will be interested in the 9.3 if you decide to sell it!

I just left the range with my 35whelen Lipseys, (yeah I shot it, couldn’t take setting it back) and it is getting very close to getting the final load/loads wrapped up. I am liking it so far!

Started with varget. I have tried 225 ballistic tips, Norma 250 oryx, and swift 280 aframes. So far varget 56.0 and Norma oryx are winning in accuracy. I start with two shot groups testing. If two aren’t close it won’t get better with three. Once I get decent group I go back and try a few 3-shot groups, tweak it here and there. I really wanted the 225 bullets to do well. I have a 9.3 that likes everything I put thru it 250-286, not picky and speed is always there. I wanted the 35 to shoot 225’s and bridge gap between my 300win mag and 9.3x62 and 9.3x74r. Also mainly to have a cool kick ass looking Africa style rifle to play with at times

found one! Actually several to pick from. Got mine in the other day and it looks nice :)

My Lipseys .35 Whelen showed up the other day too. Sweet piece of work!

That's interesting, so they take new scopes and cerakote them gloss black? Retaining the gold ring too... that is a nice option for the guys that want a traditional look. Would be interested to see pictures of your African 35 all dressed up for the dance.

I have the lipseys African in 9.3x62, 280AI and now the 35. The 9.3 is scoped and I think that will be the next one to take the trip over with me. That one is dressed with a vari-x 3 I had on hand that was gloss.

I'm not sure if this new scope will go on the 280 or 35. But yes, it has the gold ring and you literally cannot tell that it was taped off. There is one spot on the scope that if held in the light at the right angle, you can see some slight dimpling, like where the finish didn't get sprayed heavy enough and lay flat, but I'm a perfectionist, so I'm not surprised that I picked it apart until I noticed some minor imperfection lol.

The problem is, now that you've seen that spot, you can't un-see it... lol.

Could you post some pics of the scope? I am very interested in doing a couple of my scopes now. I looked at their website and it was only $100. They had like 90 colors in stock, but I just was gloss black

I handled one of the new 35’s today at the LGS. Vdry nice rifle. If I can find a 416 I may just try to do a 2 gun battery :)

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
