Filling Stefanik's seat..........

Under the House Vacancy Clause in the U.S. Constitution, states have "Executive Authority" to hold a special election if a seat in the House becomes vacant. Each state can determine its own timing and circumstances of the election. In the state of New York, Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul would have 10 days to call a special election to replace Stefanik, which would have to be held 70 to 80 days from the date of that proclamation -- during the first session of a Congress.

Everyone says China is the biggest threat to the US. Why no politician talks about the threat about Mexico is beyond me. It's not just about illegal border crossings. The drug cartels are a clear and present danger that needs to be addressed. Hopefully Trump does something about it.

@375 Ruger Fan - Mexico is an “annoyance” that we could fix anytime we really put in the effort and face very little risk in doing so. China throws a much harder Punch - we would feel some real pain and the swelling would last a long time…. I would Not ever want to get into a fight with them. As two big guys in a Bar once said “If we fight - we’re both gonna get hurt”

More on gang violence. Good interview at about 11 minutes.

The Biden administration didn't just allow this to happen they encouraged it. Makes you wonder what other types of "cells" were allowed to come to this country.

@HankBuck, to use the double negative, I don't disagree with you. However, I think China and the Mexican cartels are part of the same threat to the US, particularly when it comes to Fentanyl. We need to deal with both of them. Quickly and as harshly as necessary to get our point across.

Very true but a lot of it boils down to politics and how many politicians pockets are getting filled in Mexico.

If the cartels did not have a ready market in the US their power would be destroyed. Control the border and you eliminate the threat.

@Ridge Runner - I get your point and you cite some good examples, maybe you were even in the Military and served with Women and therefore have real experiance that I lack, so I respect your POV for that and I can Not match that. I do know men in the Military now and Officers that oversee training: Women do Not have to meet the same Physical fitness standards that men do and unless they recently reduced the physical standards for ALL because of recruiting difficulties. To some of your Bullit points - You quote the rare “exceptions” and Not the majority or even averages ie” Yes, some Women can kick a mans ass and especially a well trained and conditioned MMA fighter….but she can’t beat a similarly trained, similar sized MMA Male fighter and let me know what “bout” took place in MMA where a female beat a male??
Regarding Bravery Men vs. Women - agree No difference there. Operating a firearm, tank, fighter jet, Drone etc.. - agree No difference there. But Women are NOT Physically equal to Men, No woman has ever beaten a World record held by Men - Name ONE athletic physical World Record held by a Woman? Weightlifting, Running, Swimming, Pole Vault, High Jump, Marathon, 100m dash, etc… or explain why if Women are equal they are not openly competing head-to-head with Men in all athletic fields? I do Not doubt that you have served with some exceptional female soldiers - brave, competent, physically fit, and highly capable….but they’re the “exceptions”. Even the highly touted U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, World Cup Winners - couldn’t beat a Men’s Soccer Team and very unlikely they could beat any top College Men’s team….watching them play is entertaining but like Men’s Soccer in “slow motion”,,,,,same with Women’s Pro tennis,

OK, enough of the ridiculous “examples” as we both get our points. Woman fight for the Mossad and IDF because the very small population of Israel, combined with enemies on all borders, requires “everyone” must serve in the military. It has helped to highlight how valuable women can be in the military and the great contributions they can make and their “bravery” was never in question. To your question “Do I think American Women in the Military are LESS Capable then other Countries?” Answer: NO, but I do think that “most” MOST are NOT as “willing” to sacrifice and do what it takes to be a good soldier. When I say “most” I mean most of the U.S. population of Women - Not the few that decide to go into the military voluntarily.

Take a look at my thread in Happy Veterans Day. I served in the U.S. ARMY, active duty, guard, and reserve with overseas duty and hold mostly combat enlisted MOSs and officer Branches, with specialty designators.

I have served with some very capable female soldiers. In all fairness and arguably, it was In My Biased Professional Opinion, preceived long term effects, that prevented them from being fully functional team members based on the types of special purpose assignments we were designated to preform.

Here is my final questions:
1). Why have Women NEVER been drafted to serve in a U.S. military during a War?

Answers to your questions are in/from one of my recent earlier threads.

The US mentality! No Joke. US men and women see US women as fragile, lack the fortitude to make life and death decisions on the battlefield. And men are suppose to protect women, not to put women in harm's way.

2). Should Women be required to be drafted into War - the same as men?

The icing on the cake: the women's lib movement. Seems women wanted to be equal to men, but not that equal to be drafted.

IMO, Yes. The draft should be reinstated and should include both men and women, with a minimum of 3 year active duty enlistment and 4 year option: inactive or active Reserve or National Guard.

With No discrimination or influence regarding social, economic, or political status. Meaning medical, legal, politician relatives, or friends, or friends of friends, etc., are not to be excluded/waived from military service.

Purpose:

1. Foreign Policy. When the "elite" have "skin" ie. their family members lives at stake in a hostility, the less likely the "elite" will be so fast to commit to a long term military action.

2. Domestic Policy. Providing education and training to those that lack the skill and educational opportunities needed to better themselves and their communities.

2 A. I would hope and expect less bureaucratic BS. When it comes to the overall care of veterans:1 ie. medical, mental, physical, education, etc., and the end of the "broken toy" syndrome.

2 B. I'm sure this is going to be highly controversial. More so today than in the 1970's and 80's. And an OP of its own.

Using the draft as a means to disrupt, disburse/disband, arrest and prosecute criminals/ gangs.

Unlike what Russia's current purpose for using criminals in the war with Ukraine. The concept floated was to reduce street crime, making American's streets/neighborhoods safe again while decreasing jail, not prison, populations.

Hilarious and sad at the same time. Email I received from CA DOJ with words from CA DA Rob Bonta...

Mike Waltz selected by Trump to be National Security Advisor, an extremely important position. I just Googled Waltz, Green Beret in the Army, 4 Bronze Stars. Heck, even his wife served in the Army and she has a Bronze Star.

He served in B/2/20th shortly after I served in C/2/20th and HHC 2/20th… the handful of guys I know that know him (I’ve never personally met him) say he is a solid leader and a good man…

Should be a fine pick for NSA…

"When voting in person" is the key--what about mail in ballots...they drive a Mack truck through that loophole?
At least a Mack truck! Most here use mail-in/drop box system. One more time and I promise the last time! Non-citizens in Colorado can get a driver’s license through a State of Colorado DMV office. Colorado is a bright blue state. Driver’s license holders are AUTOMATICALLY registered to vote no matter their citizenship status, It is kind of a corrupted/evolved motor- voter system first used years ago to get the worthless lazies, gov dependent class to register to vote (IIRC, at the time a libtard Dem idea). No rocket science needed to connect the dots for the potential for illegal voting. The county clerks who run the elections use the driver’s license data base as supplied by the state’s DMV. The county clerk mails ballots to those on the list as supplied by the DMV. The recipient fills out the ballot and signs the outside of the pre-addressed security/mailing envelope. Then the voter either mails via USPS or puts the envelope holding the ballot into a county supplied drop box. The county elections officials open the envelope to retrieve the ballot. At this point the ballot.becomes anonymous. The signature on the envelope can be compared to that filed in the DMV database before the ballot is removed but after separation the ballot becomes anonymous. But comparing signatures has little meaning. Of course the signatures match because it’s the same person! At this point the ballot is anonymous, is considered legit and the “laundering” is complete. If the person in the above example is a non-citizen, that person just voted with the vote/selections contained within being counted and likely certified in batch at both the county clerk level and the state’s Secretary of State level.

The CO Secretary of State, just a year or so prior, certified 30,000-40,000 irregular votes, many suspected irregularities similar to the above example. Yes, same (Democrat) Secretary of State who attempted to keep Trump off the ballot this cycle. The same “piece of work” official who was conveniently confused by the mainstream media with the (Republican) Mesa County CO clerk who got time then got jumped on by a judge so the judge could get some press coverage … all for attempting to get to the bottom of possible integrity issues and voting system irregularities in 2020. How dare someone try to investigate voting integrity! Then a strange, politically convenient switch of identities between the Clerk and the Secretary of State, carried out purposefully by the MSM and repeated here by Tanks. Like I said, sometimes easy to determine source of junk news and info consumed then repeated, :)

Rubio nominated for Sec of State. Interesting choice.

I wish Jack Keene was a little younger, he'd be a good choice for SOD. Keene is still very sharp at 81, but I think it would be an issue during a confirmation hearing. Hopefully, he'll have some input on the selection.

I don’t think Rubio was a good choice for SOD. I would prefer someone with military experience. Not so sure he can carry the big stick, after being in the compromise club.

Rubio for Sec of State, not Defense
I am good with Rubio. He will calm some of the anxiety among the internationalists (very different than globalists). So will Elise Stefanik who will drive both the neo-isolationists and Hamas apologists a little crazy. I hope there is an intended message to the international community - friend and foe - with both.

I tried very hard as a father to instill in my sons to learn from their mistakes. I tried even harder to teach them that it's even better to learn from the mistakes of others. I'm not sure what you mean by shock and awe changes, but it would be wise for the Republicans to take a moment and learn from the mistakes of the Democrats.

This amazing comeback by Trump and the GOP was in part fueled by the Democrats tacking too far left. From taxpayer funded sex change operations, defund the police and the subsequent rise in crime to an open door immigration policy, they went too far to the left. The voters responded to this and said no, you've gone too far. I think it would be wise not to repeat that mistake by going to far in the other direction and play the long game.

1. The USA has never been that desperate. In WW2 Women went to work in the factories and did their part. Then went back home and got married and pregnant and gave birth to us Baby Boomers;)
2. No.
