As I've said before, I am shocked at the amount of college students that are trading in their Che Guevara shirts for MAGA hats....... and it is NOT Trump's personality that has won them over, it's the reality of economic circumstances they have grown up in.

I think a lot of that comes from Charlie Kirk, Bennie Johnson, Ben Shapiro, etc..

Millenial aged right leaning political commentators that have dominated the social media space for the last several years.. There are more right leaning commentators, and they have greater following than their left leaning competitors..

The most popular left leaning millennial aged political commentators like David Parkman have 3M viewers on Youtube.. where Shapiro has 7.2M.. (Johnson and Kirk both have about 3.25M)..

The left continues to cling to the thoughts and ideals of Gen X and even some boomer aged commentators.. which is honestly why they continue to dominate middle aged, middle class, white, women.. while the right continues to roll out very intelligent, very articulate Gen Y and Gen Z types that are also extremely skilled (and many times well trained) debaters..

If Im a 20 year old college student, no matter how much I agree with Glenn Greenwald (380K subscribers on YouTube) sooner or later Im going to get tired of listening to his 58 year old opinion.. I might really dislike the things Charlie Kirk is saying (initially).. but at least I can relate to him...

The left is losing the social media war for the most part... they also regularly get destroyed in the "meme war" by the right, which most people Gen X aged or older get entertained by, but younger generations actually pay attention to the themes, constructs, and rationale behind.. which is why they are losing millennials and Gen Z in large numbers I think.. the right is simply doing a much better job at connecting and getting their message out.. despite the majority of faculty on campus being hard left leaning and doing everything in their power to influence their students (some of the crap my daughters relay going on at 2 different SEC schools with tie faculty honestly sickens me)..

Whether Canadians are unhappy with Americans at the moment or not, getting deeper in bed with the Chinese has been a horrible solution for every other country on the planet that has done it so far.. 10 years from now I think Canadians would have some very deep regrets..

At the actual battlefield sometimes strange alliances are being formed over night. Its here the good commander interpes quickly to alter plan to either save his troops or see new oppochunity to eradicate the enemy once and for all. But it takes quick thinking and timing to find the gap in the anatomy of the battle to alter plan if required.

I guess thats is what is happening at the financial markeds.

Andrew Breitbart said "Politics is downstream from culture". When I first heard that quote 20 years ago I couldn't envision an America where the youth would be conservative. The past few years it has been encouraging to see the Kirk's and Shapiro's of the world completely changing the narrative. My hope for the younger generation and America is much higher now than it has been for a generation.

So apparently China wants to ban Hollywood movies in retaliation for the tariffs, I find this hilarious as the Chinese have been quietly censoring the content of movies shown in the USA for years by restricting content that they will allow to be shown, as well as Hollywood being an industry packed full of immoral people who spew their political nonsense.

Also in LA an illegal immigrant soccer coach who was charged with sexual assault of two youth league soccer players in 2022 but not deported, has now been charged with "murder in commission of a lewd act" after allegedly sexually assaulting and killing a 13yo player on his team.

Canada's largest trading partner is threatening annexation, tariffing goods, and is actively hostile.

Why would Canada not want a closer relationship with our second largest trading partner, which is poised to over take the US in the coming decades as the largest and most influential economy?

Huge market for Canadian resources.
Seems like that's by far the most practical and sensible solution for Canada. It would be objectively good for Canada, and that it further undermines US global influence is just a bonus.

Andrew Breitbart said "Politics is downstream from culture". When I first heard that quote 20 years ago I couldn't envision an America where the youth would be conservative. The past few years it has been encouraging to see the Kirk's and Shapiro's of the world completely changing the narrative. My hope for the younger generation and America is much higher now than it has been for a generation.

Hopefully, the conservatism amongst the younger generations will grow.

The disturbing trend we are seeing, is the increase in the radical faction of the Democrat party.
Youth, that are ever resorting to intimidation, violence, assault, vandalism, and destruction.
Young people that have no direction in life, and are easily swayed by the "mob rules" mentality.
Since the democrats won't speak out, or call for it to stop, it only solidifies the fact that they are silently endorsing it.
Today's universities seem to be another breeding ground and incubator for this disturbing behavior.

Our young adults also "identify" as a member of the rainbow mafia at an alarmingly high rate. It's become a religion with them and radicals will undoubtedly emerge at a higher rate.

Like you, I hope that the conservative youth movement keeps growing and that being grounded morally, culturally, scientifically and economically continues to gain steam and is looked at as the cool thing.

Unfortunately i didn't load up enough and I'm not sure the wild ride is over.

I did however buy a truckload of VIX puts over the last couple days.
The VIX behaves like gravity. Typical and reliable fall back to earth after big spikes.
However... these days... ya never know.

There will be continued volatility, even though the VIX is trending up. Now when everybody is nervous and consumer confidence is going down. It is the best time to make good deals. If you’re going to buy something, now is the time to do it.

When the 70 nations strike their respective tariff deasl and it’s just China remaining. Then the tax cuts go through. the markets going to go gangbusters. that will not be the time to try to get a good deal. The time is now.
