There is always someone out there plotting to off the US President... the number of credible threats the USSS responds to annually is shocking...

That said.. no sane person on the left wants Trump taken out at this point...

Their best hope is he goes back to being the person everyone hated for his behavior, and they can sway the house and senate back to their side in 2 years (rest assured MASSIVE campaign efforts are already underway as of this morning)..

If Trump gets tagged now... they have JD Vance to contend with for the next 4 years... and I am certain that absolutely terrifies them (just as conservative, bought in on most Trump ideals, young, energetic, and not nearly as polarizing... )...

In fact, if Trump is smart, and can stand sharing the spotlight.. he should be pushing Vance out in front of every major initiative starting on day 1... Vance has the potential to unify the R party.. and that would also position Vance to carry on a Trump legacy for 8 more years after 2028..
Does the VP elect automatically get promoted if the President elect dies? I never really thought about it until this year.

I'm probably most excited about Musk coming in and gutting the inefficiency out where he can. Loved his Mother's interview! When asked if it was realistic to cut $2 Trillian out of the federal government, she smiled and said that's just Elon being modest, he can do a lot better than that;)

Mark Cuban made an interesting observation yesterday about Musk and any role he might play in the Trump Administration...

Essentially many of Musks companies have a LOT of connectivity to the US Govt.. and Musk is well known for being a hands on CEO and being deeply involved in most negotiations, etc..

So Musk very likely has some deep conflict of interest situations that would have to be navigated (firewall himself off from his own companies, firewall himself off from certain US Govt activities and enterprises, etc..etc..).. or he couldnt hold an actual cabinet position or any sort of Govt compensated position..

That said.. nothing says he couldnt be part of Trumps equivalent to Reagans "Kitchen Cabinet"... nothing prevents Musk from being a close personal advisor to Trump... or from heading up a committee or other organization (as a volunteer.. which I am sure he would have no problem doing.. he definitely doesnt need a salary or benefits provided by the USG) that has a function unrelated to his products/services (i.e. find efficiency in the US Dept of Education.... but steer clear of the EPA (heavily regulates several of his businesses), steer clear of the Dept of Commerce (also heavily regulates several of his businesses), etc..etc..

An important factor in this win, is that Trump won't have to spend 2-4 years defending himself against baseless impeachment committee's, and the time wasting nonsense.
As long as they can focus keep things stable enough to not take a huge loss in the midterms. Fortunately this victory isn’t the upset 2016 was and I don’t see the dems making as a big comeback as they did after that.

Section 3 of the 20th Amendment to the United States Constitution outlines the presidential succession process in the event of the death or failure to qualify of the President-elect or Vice President-elect:
  • President-elect dies: The Vice President-elect becomes President

Even though I am not an ardent supporter of Trump, I was warned last night not to gloat this morning. So, election results won’t be dwelled on for continued peace in my household.

Trump’s speech last night was very good. Started with talks of healing and unity. His comments about Vance after Vance’s words were actually funny.

No way can they effectively do anything. We the people won and won big enough to secure that;)

The Free World has been freed!

Trump needs to just get to work today or tomorrow. He can start now! He can start setting the tone publicly. It appears he has a much better transition team in place already and I'm hopeful that will only improve starting today.

I'm probably most excited about Musk coming in and gutting the inefficiency out where he can. Loved his Mother's interview! When asked if it was realistic to cut $2 Trillian out of the federal government, she smiled and said that's just Elon being modest, he can do a lot better than that;)
It will be very difficult for him to hold any official position (I doubt he really wants to do so). He is a major supplier to the US government. He would somehow have to be firewalled from any aspect of his portfolio that does any business whatsoever with the US government. I think that would be very difficult for Musk. However, he can have a very important role as an informal advisor/consultant - even head a government efficiency study - but it could have no real authority for him to exercise.

Milton Friedman would be a perfect model for the Trump administration to consider. He was the architect and implementing advisor to Ronald Reagan with respect to economic policy. He refused any formal appointment in order to maintain his independence, but was instrumental to the Reagan government, and has left a profound legacy that has lasted well into this century.

Meanwhile back at the front - I know I am interrupting the victory party with a bit of that reality thing - but the video is of too good not to share. As some of you know, Ukraine has successfully driven the Russian navy from the Black Sea. Today, using domestically produced drones, Ukraine reached out a bit farther and successfully attacked the Russian Flotilla at its docks in the Caspian Sea.

I doubt much real damage was done, but to have your adversary successfully strike a highly protected major military base that deep inside one's country in broad daylight is rather humiliating - like almost everything else about this war from Putin's perspective.

Nevertheless..the sad part is that the Donetsk front is collapsing as we speak..

I hate to be the spoil-sport, but.....let's not let celebrating the president cause us to have a lapse of concentration and oversight until the House races are called. The Democrats may yet try to cheat their way into a few more seats/deliver more questionable ballots!
Shades of Ramses being spared when the Hittltes stopped to loot his camp as he fled through it, or the Confederacy halting when they could have taken DC. No, no, no--it is not OK for cheating or overlooking cheating as some kind of reconciliation/olive branch!

BTW, it is also not the time for compromise with the left--look what happened the last time when Trump extended his handshake to them. This time, "shock and awe", crush them and give us a REAL victory, with woke-ness thrown out of employment, and parity of conservatives to replace them, ESPECIALLY IN EDUCATION.
And I sure don't want to see Rep's sit on their laurels and waste the opportunity, like, I don't know--EVERY SINGLE OTHER TIME THEY HAD THE POWER?

On a lighter note, let the single cat lady woke voters call 1-800- WaaWaa for emotional support...oh the sweet taste of liberal tears!
P.S--hire Elon Musk for oversight!

Well, today is a good day. I admit, I was doubtful he could get elected. My wife and I both voted for him as we did the last 3 elections. Sadly, NJ is still a bunch of morons but at least we stayed true to our principles.

Wife and I both agreed that today feels like we can actually "breathe" for the first time in 4 years.

It is going to be real interesting to see where he goes with this. Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, RFK Jr, Jamie Dimon, etc, are all potential cabinet picks. He now as has 4 years of experience. He's admitted he had bad cabinet picks in the past but now? I think he's already on the right track.

JD Vance is going to be a powerhouse of a VP. Nothing else to say there.

Love him or hate him, Trump's resolve is unmatched. The guy has literally been impeached from the first day of his first term. They've attempted to put him in prison. Shot at him once, tried to again. Thrown everything at him including the kitchen sink. He just keeps moving forward.

Today feels just like it did back in 2016 but even better.

I think this is an important chart for the stolen election of '16 crowd who have already expressed skepticism about respective vote totals from '16 and yesterday. This was posted on X by a true believer.

Democrat vote totals are indeed substantially lower - ergo, the '16 vote totals were inflated by whatever nefarious means. But if one looks a bit closer, the republican vote totals are also lower than '16. Does that delta also represent cheating by Trump? I assume probably not.

Pre-election polling said nearly 70% of the population felt the country was moving in the wrong direction with the economy and immigration as two of the three most important concerns. That was a huge headwind for any incumbent. Lots of democrats simply stayed home this time. Again look at the clip from CNN. But also, quite a few republicans.

Well......this certainly didn't age well.

Are you in mourning today?
Yes, Trump has won. No, nothing will be official until January. I suspect there will not be a concession until every conceivable path to a win has been exhausted by Harris. There is a beyond minuscule chance that anything will change in the presidential race.

Yes, I am disappointed for the country. As some have said in this thread, now is the time for the Democratic Party to recenter. The far left has had undue influence over the party and left the center-left behind.

What is most disappointing is that this really cements the far right recentering of the Republican Party. Both parties have moved far from center but the R is going to stay that way for the foreseeable future.

This go round there will be no guardrails. If this guy is as great as you appear to believe, let’s see it happen. I only hope that his worst impulses never come to fruition.

Just more grist for the mill, in case you run across people who think the crap leveled at the GOP and Trump about illegals is racist in nature - those south Texas border counties have been solid blue for decades upon decades. Even our "Mexicans" are getting sick of what's happening at the border

WTF is the "Blue Wall"??.....

The New England States are and for the most part demcommie states, ie Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland (?), West Coast: California, Oregon, Washington (state), all of these states will be forever decommie states! Maybe one day these people will remove their blinders and become apart of the catalysts and "Constitutional US"...... Prerogative..."under educated"....

The "Big Red Wave" has struct!!!

I'd argue there are some chinks in that blue wall and not all of the above are "demcommie" states, which is good news for those of us in the region who are regularly against the grain with our opinions and votes.

New Hampshire is essentially a swing state again this election. Kamala won NH by ~20K votes (just barely 51% of votes), and the state just elected a Republican governor (Kelly Ayotte) to replace the outgoing Republican governor (Chris Sununu). And Maine has tracked again to the right. I was also surprised by the very tight margin of victory for her in NJ.

Compare the win percentage (and winning votes) for Kamala in NH and ME to the surrounding states in New England and the mid-Atlantic:

New Hampshire: 51% (won by <23K votes)
Maine: 53%
New Jersey: 51% (wow!)
New York: 55%
Connecticut: 55%
Rhode Island: 55%
Delaware: 56%
Maryland: 60%
Massachusetts: 62%
Vermont: 64%
Despite being called the twin states, more than a river separates Vermont and New Hampshire. They are dramatically different states from a political and business/commerce POV.

She has already conceded to Trump privately. The loss was decisive.

She pulled a Hillary last night by sending out her campaign chair to tell everyone to go home. She will undoubtedly address the nation later today - probably from Howard university.

Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
