SOUTH AFRICA: Paw Print Safaris & Me Hunt 2016

Charlie,
Have fun! Hope you get some great trophies and look forward to the report.
Philip

Great Bushbuck Charlie, you may not need a new trophy room but you will need to free up some wall space.

Congrats on taking some fine animals Charlie. Hats off to you and the boys at Paw Print Safaris.!

That's a fantastic bushbuck Charlie! I have a half life size in a crate as we speak. Congratulations on some fine animals. I hope I get one porcupine next year and you now have two.

Looks like you're having a great hunt as expected!

Charlie - looks like you knocked it out of the park!

Tim

Awesome Bushbuck! That is definitely a monster, a full mount will look awesome! Congrats!

Guys we now have @billc in camp with his party and they are a happy lot!
Pieter and his team are making this week a great hunt for the guys! Will post a picture later of everyone in a group shot!

nice Bushbuck Charlie , enjoy the Waterbuck hunt .

Charlie, Great hunt so far! Love all the trophies. Yes, those eland are huge indeed. Need a bigger winch, a bigger truck and bigger crew to help when you put one of those big guys down.

Well said 375 Ruger Fan

Paw Print Safaris goes out of its way to cater to the "special" needs of guest hunters. @billc wouldn't feel at home without his pink dinnerware and drink of choice Mountain Dew! Welcome to Flintbeck Bill.

Sure looks like a Happy Camper.

Charlie, ask Pieter to server you guys the "Kalahari enos"

It looks like @billc is getting his excuses ready "I don't know how I missed, it must have been the sugar and caffeine in all that Mountain Dew I drank last night" Have a great time guys and shoot straight, tracking is a young mans game.

True story. Monday morning, Elementary School Teacher taking up lunch money for the week from the kids. Little girl: "Mrs. Walker can I bring my money tomorrow. My Mama's sick this morning. She has a Hang Around?"

That being said, can you catch one of them from an excess of Mountain Dew?

You guys have fun, hope you get a crack at a bushpig!

Got this nice Waterbuck today with the help of a great Paw Print team!
On the morning drive we saw nothing as for waterbuck that we could hunt. We did see one about a mile away on a farm we could not hunt on! So after lunch we went to a different farm! Actually the same farm where I got my sable and eland. Thirty five minutes into the drive the tracker Steve sees waterbuck cows bedded down. One cow stands up and we stop looking for a bull. Sure enough one stands up about sixty yards away and begins to turn to take off. I squeeze the trigger and it's a miss. Another crap shot for the week. But we go look for blood and find nothing. However, Steve can see the bull standing on the opposite hill. Back to the truck and we head that way. We get to where the bull hand been but we see no blood there either. So we are quite sure the first shot was a miss. Pieter and Steve inter the brush to see if the group will flush and they do but they cross the road way back up the hill. We get the truck turned around and head that way to pick up Steve and Pieter. It's a quick pick up and we are off up the ridge. As we turn the corner the cows and bull are a little over two hundred yards away and up the side of another ridge. I get on the scope and wait fir the bull to pull in front of a cow but he goes behind a bush. As he stepped out the other side I squeezed the trigger again. The Ruger #1 did it's job again and I hit the bull in his right front shoulder. He reacted like it was a very good hit and the professionals were sure they heard the thump of the bullet hitting him. The shoulder was broken and he was still moving up the ridge. I reloaded aimed and let fly another round and he stepped into its path hitting him in the neck! He stood for just a moment then went down! As we got bear it was clear that one more round was need to end things quickly. Guess what.....it was the last 300 win mag bullet I had with me!
26 1/2 inch horns but very big bases!

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
